The Militia Movement has been derided as the activity of fringe elements of our society. Nothing could be further from the truth.
Every citizen has a duty to his nation, to his state, and to his community, to defend the Constitution for himself, for his children, and for the sake of doing what is right before God.
In times of peace and prosperity, those duties are routine: Pay your taxes, obey the law, and vote--- such duties are vital to society.
In time of war, the duties of citizenship become truly dangerous, and require great personal sacrifice, sometimes even the ultimate sacrifice.
But not all crises involve war. Natural disasters, plagues, and economic crises can also pose a serious risk to the survival of a nation. Some crises can even emanate from the government itself. For it is the tendency of all governments to continually expand their powers unless, and until, restrained by the people.
Thomas Paine wrote in 1776, "These are times that try mens' souls." As was the case then, the crisis before us now is one in which increasing numbers of loyal, decent American citizens are losing trust in their government. And they are losing that trust because the government has increasingly become unrepresentative of the people.
It is not the purpose of this website to fully describe the situation we now face. Many others have done an ample job of that in books, blogs and videos.
The purpose of this site is to bring together loyal American citizens who will be willing to stand ready. Standing ready means first, to be informed. Second, to participate in every peaceful manner available under the law to reverse the corruption in our government. And third, should our government cause us to fear it, to put that government on notice that no, we will never fear you, but instead, you must fear us if you violate the Constitution.
What is needed now is for sensible American citizens to communicate with each other, to form citizen militias, and to equip themselves physically, mentally and spiritually, to oppose tyranny, and to re-establish the liberty for which our Founding Fathers pledged their lives, their fortunes, and their sacred honor--- for us.
We need retired military officers to take the lead in this. I myself can be, at most, a foot soldier, an ordinary patriot among many others. It falls to greater men and women, the task of organizing, coordinating, and leading a potent force of dedicated citizens.
Hopefully, the government will respond by returning to its Constitutional mandate of limited powers. Hopefully, our growing numbers and urgent commitment will persuade them not to tread on us.
But should the government instead respond with threats, with force, and with tyranny, then we must stand ready to perform our duty as free men and free women.
We must.
